Welcome to Key Stage 2

Key Stage 2 at Bright Future covers Years 3 to 6, where children continue to build strong foundations for learning, while developing independence, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Our aim is to challenge, inspire, and support every child to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

What do we teach?

In KS2, children explore a broad and balanced curriculum, designed to deepen their knowledge, skills, and understanding across key subjects:

Core Subjects

  1. English: Developing reading comprehension, writing skills, and confident oral communication. Students explore fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and research projects.
  2. Mathematics: Mastering number operations, fractions, geometry, data handling, and problem-solving strategies.
  3. Science: Investigating living things, materials, forces, and the natural world through hands-on experiments and projects.

Foundation Subjects

  1. Islamic & Moral Education: Deepening understanding of values, ethics, and character development.
  2. Social Studies & History: Exploring local, national, and global communities, cultures, and historical events.
  3. Arabic (Arabic A & B): Building reading, writing, and communication skills.
  4. Art & Design: Developing creativity and personal expression through varied media and techniques.
  5. Physical Education (PE): Promoting fitness, teamwork, coordination, and a love of sport.
  6. ICT (Information and Communication Technology): Advancing computing, coding, digital literacy, and responsible technology use.
  7. French (from Year 2 onwards): Building vocabulary, conversation skills, and basic grammar for practical communication.

  4. Enjoy a happy, balanced school life

In addition, we run regular wellbeing workshops covering topics such as emotional awareness, stress management, conflict resolution, and anger management, equipping children with practical skills to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Enrichment Opportunities

KS2 learning extends beyond the classroom:
